A GOOD FATHER

A good father is just a source of light and joy in the household.

The father, as the leader of the family, may be either a problem or a benefit to the family, but in this article, I will discuss who a good father is.

The bible clearly states that the man is the head of the family, thus if the family is on the rise, the fathering role cannot be overlooked.

I wrote this to wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day and to encourage those in the process of becoming excellent fathers to understand well how they may be extremely good while without being a burden to the family. In the name of Jesus Christ, may God have compassion on us.

1. A GOOD FATHER TEACHES THE CHILDREN THE WORD OF GOD.

Every decent parent desires to foster virtue in his children. Man’s heart develops evil by default during his youth, but when the father gathers his children and teaches them the word of God, the children acquire a dread of the Lord in their hearts, which they display in school, the community, the church, and anywhere they may find themselves. This is an essential present that a parent may provide to his children before they grow up so that they might become valuable persons to God and the community.

Easy-to-Read Version Deuteronomy 6:5-7 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Always remember these commands that I give you today. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up.

2. A GOOD FATHER IS ALWAYS MERCIFUL AND LOVE HIS CHILDREN UNCONDITIONALLY.

A good father would always love you as a son and will always want the best for you so that you become the excellent child he desires.

Easy-to-Read Version Luke 15:20-22 So he left and went to his father. “While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming and felt sorry for him. So he ran to him and hugged and kissed him. The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and good sandals on his feet.

Despite all the wrongs or faults committed by his son, the father found a way in his heart to forgive him and make a feast since the boy returned to him and even he returned to his senses.

You cannot exclude your own children from your presence because they did not pass tests or because they did things you did not expect them to do. You’d rather fix them and return them to yourself.

3. EVERY FATHER GIVES GOOD GIFTS TO THE CHILDREN

No parent will give his children harmful things that will lead to their downfall or humiliation, but rather will give them what they need to get by in life.

Every decent father works hard to put food on the table, provide for the children, and give them things to put a smile on their faces.

Easy-to-Read Version Luke 11:11-13 Do any of you have a son? What would you do if your son asked you for a fish? Would any father give him a snake? Or, if he asked for an egg, would you give him a scorpion? Of course not! Even you who are bad know how to give good things to your children. So surely your heavenly Father knows how to give the Holy Spirit to the people who ask him.”

4. GOOD FATHER DOES NOT PROVOKE THE CHILDREN TO SIN BUT RATHER CORRECT THEM TO DO RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD AND IN THE COMMUNITY WHEN THEY GO WRONG.

Every good father instills godliness in the hearts of his children and does not want them to stray, so when they do wrong, they do not spare the rod; instead, they scold or reprove them in a way that is not hatred but love, so that the children will continue to enjoy good things.

Easy-to-Read Version Ephesians 6:4

Fathers, don’t make your children angry, but raise them with the kind of teaching and training you learn from the Lord.

Many fathers irritate their children by using harsh language and assigning them difficult tasks or labor that tests their strength. However, a good one to all wonderful things will keep them secure.

5. A GOOD FATHER PROTECTS THE CHILDREN.

One strategy to safeguard children is to tell them what they should avoid in order to gain peace while on earth.

You keep them safe from wicked things that may harm them. You tell them about the things that bring many people down in life, and you always follow up to check whether they are implementing them. You also guard them physically, ensuring that they are protected from all types of bad persons in the neighborhood. When terrible individuals approach their children, no father will forsake them; instead, they will try harder to protect their children first.

6. A GOOD FATHER IS A GOOD ROLE MODEL IN THE HOUSE

Most of the time, youngsters learn not just through your words but also through your deeds. They observe how you treat your wife, how you speak to her, how you speak to them, your kindness, prayers, and giving. Children, both deliberately and unknowingly, learn them from their father. They observe your actions even if you do not tell them to. You serve as a projector for them, and they observe your behaviors.

You have a large influence on the conduct of children in life.

May God bless you all; there is much more to say, but I won’t since the goodness of a father is so tremendous.

You, the father, are the family’s ruler; it is through you that the family may be steered in the right route in life. Your actions may either propel the family to greatness or ruin, but I trust that God will always help you do what is best for the family.

Every father I’m taking advantage of this opportunity to wish you all a happy Father’s Day.. Amen ❤‍🔥
